The Dalai Lama, in accepting the Distinguished Peace Leader award from the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation in 1991, spoke on the dangers of nuclear weapons and prospects for a world free of nuclear weapons leading to peace. As an advocate for non-violence and peaceful resolutions to conflict, the Dalai Lama stands for everything that nuclear weapons do not; the Dalai Lama stands for compassion, dialogue and peace.
